COMEX 2022 Tech Venture to help SMEs

The government of Oman has made a number of efforts to diversify the economy to ensure the sustainable development of the country. One of these efforts is the ICT SMEs Development Program, which is supported by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology to develop a comprehensive database of information and communication technology (ICT) related startups in Oman and allocate their services to potential IT business opportunities. The use of ICT will affect SMEs positively and, as a result, on Oman's economy.

Comex Tech Venture (from 23rd to 25th of May 2022 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center) has also focused its attention on supporting the ICT sector in relation to startups within the framework of Oman Vision 2040 to implement technology in Oman. 150 startups from around the Arab Union will exhibit at the Comex tech venture zone to promote their products and solutions, attract potential customers from government and private sectors, and meet founders and investors from big companies.

The tech venture is for startups in different areas in the ICT field, such as gaming, e-commerce, e-lifestyle, business, entertainment, health and fitness, education, travel, utilities, fintech, biotech, and logistics tech. These enterprises will be given the opportunity to showcase their services at the exhibition at a nominal price to help them grow to provide a better service.

Weam Al Kindi - Project Assistant for COMEX- Said: “We encourage all ICT Startups in Oman, and from around the Arab Union, to take this great opportunity to publicize themselves which will help upscale their startups. If interested, you can contact me directly for further queries on participation on wiam@arabianresearch.org”
