Metaverse, you have probably heard about it, but do you actually know what is it?
Nowadays, big technology companies are talking about the concept of Metaverse and its benefits as the most prominent technological event that those concerned are waiting for. It has attracted a lot of companies, and Facebook (currently Meta) is the best example of creating technology to develop the metaverse.
Metaverse term is a combination between the two words, ‘meta’ and ‘universe.’ It is used to refer to the evolution of the internet which is expected to see the rise of virtually integrated environments that give users access to virtual reality and augmented reality experiences. Mark Zuckerberg- CEO of Facebook- describes the metaverse as “an embodied internet that you’re inside of rather than just looking at”. The Sultanate has always supported technological trends, especially the ones that help in succussing the goals of Oman Vision 2040 in creating a digital Oman. Supported by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, Comex 2022 is hybrid this year (in-person and virtual expo).
